First off, I got the Pacific Digital deal from Staples last week. Drive that was shipped was the Optorite DD0201, running firmware 2.17. I would like to update the firmware to 2.6, however when I try to update I am given the following error message: "Not support for this device." Any suggestions as to why it is doing this and how to correct the situation so I can update the firmware?

Next I would like to update the bios for my Radeon 9000 pro 128mb vid card. I have never flashed the BIOS for a video card before, many times for motherboards though. What exactly do I need to do, and where can I find a good BIOS flash for my card?

If it helps at all, system is running an Athlon XP 2200+, Shuttle AN35N Ultra 400 Nforce2 Mobo, 1gb PC2700, and Windows XP Pro.

I appreciate any and all advice.

1) Did you check Pacific Digital's site? Maybe they have an update.

2) Check out the forums at rage3d.com. Lots of info there for ati. I haven't been there for a while but there is a lot of discussion there.

Could't find anything on Pacific Digitals website for my drive, just for a bunch of CD-R/W's.

Will check out the other site though. Thanks a lot.

Why are you flashing your video card BIOS. When you flash it you better be damn well sure that you know exactly what your flashing it too. Most of the time you shouldn't mess around with the video bios unless you wanna OC above and beyond and are willing to take an enormous risk.
