OK, so after selling my 2.0GHz 50% overcloker I jumped on the bandwagon of Outpost.com 2.53GHz chips and besides having at least 30 bent pins :)|) I got up to 175MHz FSB (3.3GHz) with air-cooling. What are others getting with similar setup? Oh yeah, I'm using 1.6V (I will go down with the voltage later, I just wanted to see if it boots into Windows) and ran Prime95 for 14 hours straight with no error. Didn't adjust any options in Prime95 (for RAM, I heard you should adjust it to 200MB), is that OK for stability?

I would lower the vcore to default. And just keep pushing the fsb up until it won't boot into windows. That will nearly be your limit with the cpu since these chips don't seem to go much further after default vcore. You might get another 5 or so fsb, but maybe not. I had one of them that stopped at 175 and would go no further no matter how much juice I gave her.

i usually set prime95 RAM to half the existing RAM installed on the system...ie 256MB total system RAM => 128MB in Prime95

175fsb with 1.575 vcore so far stable with 2-2-2-6-2 memory timings. Mine needs at least 1.55 vcore for spd memory timings, but anything tighter and Prime95 fails after 12+ hours.

I'm at 183fsb (which my mobo raises to 183.99 fsb for some reason ) or 3.5ghz @ default voltage... this is with H20. Been running solid for a week and no problems. I haven't pushed it any further than 183fsb just for fear that my 4x512 sticks of pc2700 and 8inxp are at thier limit. Yeah, I know... wussy. I'm just enjoying the sanctity of a stable (and screaming fast) system :)

God bless these multi-vid P4's.

nice :)

yea ditto on the vcore thing ~ you wont get much more then heat out of by raising vcore.
keep it under 1.6v ;) (im running 1.575v)

Luk,.....check out our ongoing thread about erros when ocing these c1 chips....Do not count on prime95 telling much about stability...Try running some video encoding or some heavy cpu dependent gaming for long periods to really test it...Also while running prime95 multitask with several items in the desktop environment...

I also want to push a thought that not only do these chips not go very far after default vcore but I think it may lead to some of these issues we are seeing in these chips erroring out...Many are starting to see stability was an illusion fostered by prime95 but in fact the system is not very stable when stressed and multitasked...

I think much over 1.6v andf the prolem is very prevalent...

Hmm, I was changing RAM in my computer and now I can only run at 160MHz FSB? How could this be when I was running Prime95 for 14 hours at 175MHz FSB? Any ideas? I was putting some TwinMOS PC3200 RAM in my system and now this?

I rma'd two 512Mb sticks of that exact same ram about a week ago. Comp wouldn't post with one stick in. Random reboots with the other. Bad ram maybe?

Could be. I was running the CPU at that speed with RAM at 350MHz just to see how high the CPU will go. Now I'm running the RAM higher. I'll have to do more investigation.

BTW, I'm thinking of getting 5 Dell systems with 2.66GHz CPU. Dell always has the latest and greatest, do you think it will have these multi-VID CPUs as well?
