Coming back from walmart doing a little christmas shopping I spied with my little eye a Recliner. Decided from the quick glance, and the fact it wasnt there on the way to the store to go back and check it out for I needed a better one. WHOA to my surprise it was a La-Z-Boy and I had me a smile. Stuck it in the car and brought it home.

Got it home and was going over it wondering why it had a phone attached to it to find out it not only had a phone but had heat and massage, and a cooler you plug in under the other arm rest! Whoo hoo I got me what had to of been a $2000+ chair for nothing and it all works. Fabric is a little worn with one cigarette burn hole, but it warms my ass as it shakes it and my back, and I got me some pop chilling in the refer :D:D

They cut the phone cord so some time today I will splice in a new one and get it working too.

Must be nice to have some money like this to just throw away things, chair has be worth at least $100, for I would paid that if I saw it in a garage sale, hell maybe even more ;)

No not-for-profit place will even take furniture that has worn or damaged fabric.

eewwwwwww.....

Theres probably a good reason why they threw that away. Maybe the previous owner's mother died in that chair and wasn't found for a couple of days....

I got a semi-new gas grill 2 yrs ago outside the dump in my apt complex. All it needed was a new spark plug and worked like a charm!

I found a (then) 1 year old Compaq PC about 2 years ago. Fired it up, just a crap load of spyware-- after a quick reformat, I had myself an awesome little server free of charge. :D

Isn't there a TV show where two guys go around picking up trash and restoring it? It's like "Pimp My Junk" or something . . .

I've found a few decent things at the community dumpster, people will leave decent items out front of the dumpster on the sidewalk for others to take if they want it.

Got a good lamp to use while working on my truck most recently.

It was pretty clean, we scrubbed it and cleaned it with cleaning solution and then used the wet dry vac to suck up most of the water, then placed a sheet over it and I tested the chair out, took the sheet off to let the chair finish drying and shes good to go.

Not like I plan on laying in the chair nakid or eating food off it. Im wearing clothes :p

I have no problem if someone died in it or what ever, no different then going over to someone elses home and sitting in their stuff for what they hell do you think they be doing on it you be sitting in and at least I cleaned it before sitting on the chair. Family and friends will do the nasty and sit in it buck nakid with nasty ass crack, and sex juice, Think they took the time to scrub the cair down before you sat in it, hell no ;)
Food for thought :)

A 1950's TV set. The one on the right I put hardboad inside that I covered in black velvet, a wine rack, and a couple of lights that come on when you open the doors. Nice walnut veneer.

Also, a couple of furnace blower motors. I mounted one to a piece of plywood, enclosed the belt/pulleys and use it to cool me off when I'm working on the cars in the dead of summer. The other I made a box for and stained it and use it down the basement.

Nothing moves as much air as quietly as a squirrel cage.

Very nice storage, looks really cool and a great idea. Will put that off in the back of the head if I see one in the trash next time.

well, coming from a rich house, you probably dont have to worry so much, but its usually NEVER a good idea to take furniture that is being thrown away.

Usually there is a damn good reason for it being pitched, especially if it looks nice.

Did you check for roaches and bed bugs? Like I said, coming from a rich house you probably wouldnt have to worry about it so much, but if you saw something like near an apartment building or some lower-class housing, i wouldnt even think about it...

Yeah I checked it out, cleaned it up and down in and out, didnt see one bug or reminants of any. Just looks a little worn, burn hole, and coming from the rich side got money to burn and bought a new one. I thank them if I could. I love this chair. It rocks and can lay almost completly flat whe you spread out on it. Not going to be getting rid of this chair any time soon ;)
