I found it very intersting that gorillas have this type of social structure. Seems that the more and more scientists learn about apes, the closer and closer we seem to be as species.

That's pretty cool.

Babs had an incurable kidney condition and was euthanized Tuesday. Keepers had recently seen a videotape of a gorilla wake at the Columbus, Ohio, zoo and decided they would do the same for Babs. Gorillas in the wild have been known to pay respects to their dead, keepers said.

This is pretty interesting. I know elephants also have some kind of 'wake' for their dead also. Apparently they surround the bones in a circle, protecting them. This was caught on film in the wild.
