Try tomorrow's National Enquirer. That's about the credibility he brings to the table.

Good to see Gore taking a stand and leading the pack ahead of everyone else in endorsing Obama. Now maybe all the other Dems will jump on the bandwagon too. /sarcasm

Yeah, what's the big deal about a Gore endorsement now? The Dem primary is over.

Can't blame the AlGore for wanting to get some more free advertising for his carbon credit business.

SOMEBODY has to pay for heating and cooling all that indoor acreage at Gor-een Acres (it's the place to be! Faaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrm livin' is the life for thee. Land spreading out so far & wide .... keep your airlines I using my Gulfstream ride ...).

You're confusing Gore with the reviews for that guy you see when you're shaving.

To activate the base to go volunteer?

I think it's the Hillary fan base that may need motivating. Not sure that Gore has that ability.

IMO, the real reason for a Gore endorsement was to move Super D's to support Obama or Clinton in the primary. But again, that's over with.

You guys read into these things too much.

What it boils down to is another day of big free media coverage for Obama, while McCain gets a few inches on page 10.

No, Clinton fans need motivation to vote for Obama, but the base needs to be motivated to volunteer -- and contribute.

I can't see a world in which Gore would want to be VP again, especially since the democratic nomination would have been his for the taking if he wanted it this cycle.

It's just a nice media coverage grabber, oddly timed given that McCain's campaign is still trying to spin the Clayton fund raising incident. It probably would have been better to let the news continue running that story and let it further offend the Clinton female supporters.

The general pundit feel is that Gore wants to stay out of politics hence the late endorsement.

On a personal note, I thought it was a well delivered speech: nice delivery, short simple phrases, punched the proper intonations, good enthusiasm, and more of his southern accent than we ever saw in 2000. If he had been able to deliver speeches like this back then, he probably would have connected better with the working class and won the presidency.

Yeah, no mention of a lock box in that speech tonight.
