Hear me out. We are currently facing what could be a huge economic recession, the sh!t is piling up higher in the Middle East, and the military is getting it up the a$$. Now, the majority of Americans associate all successes and failures to the president currently in charge. e.g. Bill Clinton. Let's be honest, did he really do anything for the economy or the employment rate or the other thousands of things the majority of Americans think he did? Of course not. But since he was president, he got the people's credit for it.

Now, if we put Gore in the Oval Office, all these inevitable disasters coming will be blamed on him, America will grumble and criticize him and kick him out, and vote for the other party. By that time things will have settled down and the future president can take credit for all of the mess Al Gore had swept into a pile but was unable to "bag". He'll be voted into office a second term, and America will most probably vote for the candidate from that president's party. Not to mention, wouldn't the majority of Americans be impressed by Bush if he graciously backed off? He'd be seen as a man of great character, a selfless problem solver, and a shoe-in by the time 2004 comes along.

BUSH IS BAD! :Q I can't believe you want Bush in office in 2004! The only reason I support Bush is because he's not Gore.

Actually AMD, I had the reverse type thought leading to the same conclusion.
Personally, I think Bush isn't everyone's choice for President (many people just prefer him to Gore). I worry that in 4 years a fed up America might just boot the whole Republican government right out, both of Congress and the Presidency. Then we get an all Democrat government!

But reverse it as you say, and have Gore become the one America gets annoyed with, and in 4 years maybe the Republicans will have someone more Republican voters would like!

He'd also be a shoe-in for re-election if he was President for the upcoming 4 years. Like it or not, being incumbent to an office gives you a HUGE advantage.

If I weren't running for dictator, I would vote Bush because he isn't Gore too. But things are looking bad here in my campaign headquarters in Tampa, with the recounts not helping much, so one of the two will take the problems looming now, and I can simply say in four years, "I am 18 and make a grown man look like a chimp." They'll never know what hit them. They'll vote in droves for me, and I wil establish my dictatorship as they think they elected the youngest president ever. Bwahahahahahahaha!

If Gore doesn't manage to steal this election, I wonder if someone will challenge Bush in 2004. I guess it depends on how he does, but he's such a hamster, I dunno. Will the GOP ever nominate someone good? (McCain doesn't count because he was a Democrat in deed.)

<<I wonder if someone will challenge Bush in 2004.>>

Bush would be challenged by the first chapter of a fourth grade spelling book. :p

I see the past eight years of having a Democrat fix the Country has made you bitter. C'mon, think for yourself, not just what the high rollers at the top of both major parties want you to think.

I? Bitter? No, I'm not bitter. A violent, megalomaniac with a right-wing preference, yes, but bitter, certainly not.

Uhh no ..... he shouldn't.

Unless you would like to be talked to like a six year old for the next 4 years (that's really all he has been doing during his campaign....& I quite frankly find it really annoying).
