He made such a big deal about the lady who collects aluminum cans to get $$$ for her prescription drugs. Well, this is not really true. She does it once in awhile as a hobby and would be helped by her wealthy family if she really needed help. Bogus story. Gore thinks the average American is stupid and that he knows better. He uses these stupid examples to drive a point home and almost always they are wrong.
 
McCain for president!! 😉 I honestly think that McCain would have ripped Bore a new a-hole in the debates...
 
Hey, I am absolved. Almost all of New England went with McCain. It was the rest of the country who went for Bush which pissed me off. Still, my vote won't can't because I live in the socialist state of Massachusetts.

That is stupid, we(Republicans) don't need McCain to get the Presidency and to say that we are not all there because we didn't vote for him is stupid. I think that anyone who votes for Gore is so dissalutioned they believe everything he says (ie. Internet, Love Story, Love Canal, prescription drugs for his dogs). And why are the liberals so scared of unbiased reporting? I don't understand this, Matt Drudge only poses a threat to you because he reports the truth, liberals cannot deal with the truth because it proves them wrong.

Red Dawn, I think that you are just upset because you don't have a liberal canidate to vote for with out having you conscience bother you. You need McCain to provide you liberal agenda and you need McCain to provide your moral support so you dont feel bad for yourself. Knowing you would get the extreme left from Gore and no one could vote for him on a sober mind makes you wish you had someone to appease you. Get over it he lost.
 
To all the people who say McCain would have been a better choice do you all have short memories or do you chose to ignore that fact that he was involved in the S&amp;L crisis of the 1980's?
 
Yes, Jeb was involved but he isn't running for office. McCain was and it sounds like you would have voted for him. Are you trying to imply that W was involved because Jeb was? I wouldn't vote for either Gore or Bush if they were the only choices.

Everyone was involved in the S &amp; L crisis. Almost all of them had their hands in the till. Clintons, Jeb Bush, McCain, etc. The S &amp; L crisis can easily be blamed on Reagan, by the way, so I can't fathom why a Republican would mention it. Poor memory....😛 Or, selective memory? 😛

Anyone remember Neil Bush and a certain S&amp;L named Silverado? How about the $2B that cost.

And how about W.'s oil record, the only thing that saved him twice was daddy's friends bailing him out.

As far as McCain goes: The Republican establishment got scared sh**less by him cause he wasn't their hand-picked &quot;savior.&quot;

Follow the logic in this:

McCain does tremendously well in the primaries and polling. His support is pretty much equally divided between GOPers, Dems and Independents. (In fact, his support among Dems and Independents was so strong, it was hurting Bradley.)

GOP says, well he's not fit to lead the party since 2/3s of his support is coming from outside of the party. &quot;We can't let Dems and Independants hijack out primaries.&quot; (eventhough these same &quot;geniuses&quot; are the ones who decided to open up the primaries a few years ago.)

Bush is better because he has more support among Republicans, he's the real choice for GOPers.

So, Bush wins the nomination.

And the tune changes dramatically. Bush is the real reformer. Bush can reach out and attract Independants and Reagan-Democrats, etc. etc.

The very thing they kill McCain with in the primaries is supposed to be one of Bush's strength's in the General?


 
chess9, Why do say I'm a Republican when on numerous occasions I have stated that I would vote for Harry Browne. I have not voted for a Republican or Democrat since 1984. While I have mostly posted things that are about gore that does not make me a Republican. You on the other hand appear to be nothing but a Clinton/Gore apologist.

you could write a book (and I'm sure others have) on how the republican party has continually shot themselves in the feet time and time again. There's not much foot left these days.

They couldn't endorse McCain because even 6 months earlier they had all tossed their money at Shrub. That should tell you a little about desperate the republicans have become. Still, unlike the democrats, at least the republicans managed to have several really good nominees (McCain, Forbes, Keyes, etc.). The democrats tossed out Bradley just to make it appear as though there's choice in their camp.

denali, I'm afraid chess9 is locked into the two-party mentality. Old farts are like that sometimes. 😉
 
Gore's lies are all part of a plan to desensitize Americans to the importance and relevance of truth, thereby, continuing and expanding the trend started by Clinton.

The Democrats win if issues are ignored, or made irrelevant, because it is percieved that ALL polititians lie.

For is it not true that Democrats who only want to help you? And Republicans only want to harm you? As the media espouses?

If the lies are allowed, what freedoms will be lost in the process?

End the lies, vote Bush.

This may be the last gasp of the two party system. In four years our debates will really be horrendous. We'll have 5 or 6 candidates by then, I'm sure.
