Likely true.....or they'll just let Gore wander into the wood chipper on his own so they won't have to put up with him any longer.;)

I don't know if I'd call him the lamb in that election.... More to the point, we don't know what the "state of the union" will be like around election time in '04. Big economic downturn + other mayhem and Bush could very well lose after enjoying earlier popularity just like his dad did.....voters are a fickle lot.<shrug>

there was a pretty good book about the 1992 election. it was basically bush's to lose and he did exactly what he needed to in order to lose. he refused to use the capital gained by the gulf war. he also refused to point out that we were out of the recession already when clinton was blabbering on about hidden unemployment. he would not play politics, and clinton played really well.
