It's really beyond me why people keep on saying SAT scores or grades make all that big of a deal in this presidential race. If we were purely voting on intelligence neither Gore or Bush would even be considered. The best parts of this country know better than to go into politics, and that what makes our country great, our hard working citizens.
SAT doesn't measure social inteligence. While some of the high scoring students where studying, AL and George where drinking beer and smoking pot, and yucking it up with tha girls at parties.
Once upon a time, SAT scores were measured that way.
It's a bullsh!t comparison, though. My girlfriend scored 890, while I scored 1360. She graduated from the same college I went to with a 3.83, while I had a 3.25 when I left. She so far has been much more successful than the vast majority of people who scored better on that test.
SAT scores are hardly a predictor of future successes.
I've always been opposed to standardized tests. Irs just a way to level the playing ground in some idiots head. The real judge of intelligenec is your willingness to work and some luck.
BTW I know some really damn smart people that did terrible on standardized tests and they are doing better than me.
SAT scores were re-centered a while back (no idea how long ago) because the average score was deemed too low. Before that, I believe you could get a score that was not a multiple of 10
Yeah, gotta love that recentering (ie they added 100 points to everyone's score). Just goes to show you how stupid the <sarcasm>Land of the Free</sarcasm> is.
Russ, yeah, I just got a 1590 on mine. I didn't wanna get the full 1600, it might seem too arrogant of a score, ya know?
J/k
I DID however get a 720 on my Biology SAT2's. Not bad, I wish I had gotten 10-20 points higher, well, i wish I got an 800, but a 730 or 740 would have been nicer. I haven't taken the regular SAT's yet...
Haha, I destroyed them both. And I had only known english for 4 years when I took it.
I guess I will tell all my friends who got low SAT scores to apply to Yale, since 1206 is enough. From what I remember, you get 1200 for just writing your name, so Dubya can at least do that.
You could get a 450 on the SATs and still be a good president, seeing as how the test has nothing to do with running a country. I think the people who publicized this are the retarded ones.
