article said:
Speaking about the likelihood of climate bill being passed by Congress in 2010, Al Gore told a conference call of supporters tonight that, “this battle has not been successful and is pretty much over for this year.” Gore bitterly denounced the Senate and federal government stating several times, “The U.S. Senate has failed us” and “The federal government has failed us.” Gore even seemed to blame President Obama by emphasizing that “the government as a whole has failed us… although the House did its job. [emphasis added]”

He goes on further to blame skeptics and professional deniers for causing this and saying they will prevail. These quotes make it sound like he's fighting a religious war. Oh well at least we get to keep millions(billions?) out of his pocket for another year.

oh well, there is always next year to save the planet. I guess we can keep telling ourselves that when the ice burgs have all melted and sea levels rise up another 20 feet. No big deal, we'll get to it next year! :D Right?

Mitigating the floods will be much cheaper don't you know.

He is fighting a religious war. The entire platform of MMCC and AGW supporters is built on the same premise as religion: faith without acts. Basically, they're asking us to have faith in their policies and ideas without actually being able to demonstrate that they are actually correct. This is the basis for most major religions.

No Mr. Gore you fuckwit. The senate has not failed us. The senate has listened to the barrage of We The People telling them to not pass cap and tax and there is hell to pay if they do.

he'll be back with his carbon-CON no doubt. He's having his willing accomplices mount a few more data collection sensors near HVAC exhaust and asphalt parking lots so the data can be cherry picked and skewed. For now he's off to molest and mangle yet another masseuse girl.

This summer was extremely mild in the Central Valley. We usually have 4-5 weeks of triple-digit temperatures dispursed throughout the summer months. This year, we've really only had one week.

Al Gore could be right, but its to bad he's a snake oil salesman. He should also blame himself for becoming a piece of shit with dubious integrity.

So, you're one of the ignorant fools that thinks local weather = climate? lol

No, I'm one of the rational people who realizes that MMCC and AGW are political adgendas that have nothing to do with what's actually happening in the world and solar system.

My anecdote was just that--a personal experience. It was meant to play off the fact that these people will say whatever they must, whether it's true or not, to get their adgenda made into law. We started with global warming, remember, and when it turned out that wasn't happening, it changed in to "climate change".

This goes back to the religion point: they're asking me to believe what they say based on faith and not evidence, and I won't do it.

Here's an excellent peer reviewed paper by McKitrick, McIntyre and Herman. It concerns just how far the Global Climate Models are off from observed data.

Panel and Multivariate Methods for Tests of
Trend Equivalence in Climate Data Series

http://rossmckitrick.weebly.com/

"Over the interval 1979 to 2009, model-projected temperature trends are two to four times larger than observed trends in both the lower and mid-troposphere and the differences are statistically significant at the 99 percent level."

It looks as though Arctic ice will reach the highest levels in over 5 years, that Antarctic sea ice extent is at record levels and that Antarctic land ice is growing, not melting on average.

Commercial ships navigating the NW Passage without icebreakers.

Numerous countries suddenly staking claims to Arctic regions previously inaccessible

The soon-to-be "No Glacier National Park"

Satellite data showing the thining of the Greenland Ice Sheet and the increasing speed of Antarctic ice flow

Yup! Buy stock in a long john company.

The ironing of course is that Gore is actually potentially one of the worst enemies for the MMGW / Climate Change groups. It gives the whole movement a political face instead of a "concerned about the world" face of science / environment. Gore is a politician, so people are associating the cause with him -- a typical lying weasel of a politician. It's damaging the credibility of the MMGW cause like no Exxon driven propaganda ever could.

monovillage - just because you haven't seen those links on your 'GOP talking points' bookmarked websites don't mean they aren't true - you may want to try reading some actual science papers on those topics

some of you need to do a little reading to understand the difference between sea ice and land ice btw
