I have a Canon XA10 which I use as a wide shot from the back of the performing arts center, but I've been starting to see other dance videos being done with a camera right at the front row.

I'm thinking I could use a GoPro in a similar situation where I have the XA10 with the wide shot and a GoPro Hero4 Black or Silver edition (not sure which one yet) capturing the stage from the front row.

I'm not 100% sure if that actually adds value since both the XA10 and GoPro will be stationary and I won't be doing any zooming/panning with either.

Any recommendations? I shoot at 1080p/60 on the XA10 and I know both GoPro Hero4's can shoot at the same.

at 1080/60 for $200 you can get the HERO+.get two for the price of the Hero4.... If you do any editing it can't hurt to have two angles at the front of the house... one stage left one stage right and mix it in post...? If it's all static(no pan/zoom) you'll get a few angles that might give you an interesting perspective.
