GOP wasting time and money reaffirming existing US motto...

HomerJS

Lifer
I guess the Republicans don't want to focus on jobs legislation and are not worried on wastful spending.

Republicans brought to the floor of the House a bill reaffirming the US motto "In God We Trust". The motto was put into place in the 1950s and is standing policy. The cost of bringing up this vote is over $200,000. Yeah I know its chump change but its money that did not have to be spent.

Frequent visitors to P&N know why Republicans are doing this so I won't expound.

Here's how the Dems need to respond. Bring up a vote in the House and Senate reaffirming the 1965 Voting Rights. While redundant it's more appropriate since the GOP is attempting to restrict access to voting nationwide.

Next the Dems need to bring up a vote stating no more reaffirming existing law/policy. Waste of time and money.

They said jobs are their number one priority (after unseating Obama, of course). What they didn't say was it was their jobs they were talking about, and their self-jobs "plan" is the usual grand-standing and pandering.

They should just go for broke and bring back saluting the flag.

It's been all about Social Engineering and absolutely squat about creating jobs except keep lowering taxes well if you look at Bush's Job Creation it tells a different story.

Shit like this pisses me off. Hopefully America will start to finally see that the GOP has no intention of doing anything good for the US and instead intends to push social engineering towards a Christian version of Saudi Arabia.

(you guys get pissed off way too easily. lighten up!)

Hey they might as well do something, since no good legislation they come up with will pass the senate anyway. Last I saw there were a bunch of jobs bills passed by the house that are not even voted on in the senate.

They are trying to work up the courage to increase taxes on the wealthy to save the country by reminding their base that this is one nation indivisible under God and they are therefore commanded to cooperate with the left to keep that so. When the base sees the hypocrisy of voting for imbeciles secessionists like Perry and the whole crowd of other small government loons every time they pledge for indivisibility, the message will start to sink in. Republicans will realize that when they pledge liberty and justice for all that all isn't just the one percent. Of course there will be many suicides as the message dawns, but never mind that.

Yes. Our country is struggling with epic problems and all our elected Representatives [sic] want to do is masturbate. I can't imagine why that should frustrate Americans.

What do you think is more significant, HomerJS wasting time or Congress making meaningless social gestures instead of doing ANYTHING AT ALL to fix the economy? The Republican controlled House has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to fulfill their stated #1 duty of "jobs, jobs, jobs" instead doing this sort of BS.

Regardless of your political bent, you should be furious with those phony posturers.

Like I said, you guys get pissed off way to easily. Relax.

Oh, and next time Obama plays golf I fully expect you to create a thread about how pissed off you are about that.

Maybe I'll create a thread of my own about how pissed off I am with you and HomerJS wasting your time on AT P&N instead of working on a start up businesses of your own and create jobs and economic opportunities for those around you.

They're not masturbating. They're sneaking in an agenda of economic theft with pandering.

Did you guys create threads congratulating congress for the recently passed trade agreements with foreign countries? Or does that fall into the category of "never doing anything to fix the economy"?

I thought it was the job of citizens to pay attention to what government is doing?

Besides your response just puts you in the same boat, so take a seat.

What is this "good" legislation you speak of from the GOP? :awe:

You'd think the GOP base would realize when they are pandered too..then again, maybe they think our current situation is due to lack of godliness...

Facts where are the facts? The fact is you have yet to produce evidence that proves the Bush Tax cuts aided in Job creation...where are they??

Nor has anything that Obama has tried to do since taking office yet I never see you or your brothers in arms railing on him.

The facts are the left's talking points are to blame Bush and Reagan in an attempt to take the spotlight off of Obama's decisions that have been fruitless.
