Seems like a reasonable request. Debate sponsors should at least have some semblance of being unbiased. It would be one thing if they were just airing the miniseries, its quite another to be directly involved with its production.
Seeing how CNN/Crowley did during the last set of debates, I'm not surprised by this.
No way man, I want all the GOP debates exclusively on Fox News. That way they have to play to the fringiest of the fringe in their bubble world, making whoever finally gets the nod completely unelectable in the general. Imagine, Cruz/Santorum vs. Clinton/(whoever). Much, much less likely a GOP presidency than Chrisie/Jindal.Lol, didn't fox, have an hour long anti Obama special on hanity in October 2008? Didn't they host some debates as well? I'm sure the GOP asked them to not do that too/s
I really hope they (CNN, NBC) don't back down, the republican debates are like watching people from jersey shore talk about politics, utterly stupid and nonsensical.
Your conclusion is completely overshadowed by the Conservative/GOP leg humper fervor that occurs at Fox News......

A political party wanting creative control over the broadcasting decisions of a television network to only air stories or content they find appropriate is laughably unreasonable and any sane person would realize how stupid such a request sounds. It fits into the current GOP bitch-fest about the "liberal media," so it makes for a good talking point with the base, but it's not going to curry favor with independents or jaded Democrats who are pissed off at the direction Obama is taking the party. And there's no chance CNN kowtows to such a ridiculous demand; shit, Reince Priebus just gave them a whole bunch of free publicity.
Can you trust a Political Party wanting the job of enforcing the Constitution attempting to thwart it in such a blatant matter?
They just happen to produce a miniseries about their favorite leftist scum... and then they want to pretend to be unbiased for the debates![]()
As for NBC, its entertainment division is making a mini-series. This has zero to do with their news division. They are run by completely different leadership.
As to CNN, the case could be a better one, but then again no one has yet seen this documentary. The GOP here is trying to kill it before anyone sees it. Maybe they should take the stance that they'll pull the debates if they find the documentary to be too pro-Hilary biased rather than making a presumption about its content before it airs.
Seems more like a business issue than a "Constitutional" issue.
When opponents of Fox News say that it shouldn't be taken seriously as a news outlet in part because of the constant, brazen partisan propagandizing of people like Sean Hannity -- hours and hours of it every week -- the response is usually along the lines that "the news shows and opinion shows are separate".
But if NBC runs one thingie on Hillary Clinton, they're damned to hell for all eternity.
Makes perfect sense.
