Hmm wonder if this is in any state that has stand your ground laws.

If a person has a CCW and is in a crowd that a car drives through can they legally shoot them?

Ehh, I might argue it depends on the road and its value as a thoroughfare. Some of them around government buildings / public parks / places may be ripe for congregation and disruption as needed. But an interstate? Police need to be all over that. No matter how many people need to be arrested.

If people come into conflict and both need to defend themselves from their assailant. Who started it? Who committed the original sin / crime?

A person traveling and trying to go about their business is innocent. A person blocking others from doing that is not innocent. You start there. Then you ask about the details. How did it escalate? Gets very messy and nuanced.
