It this really a surprise? I remember back when Rush Limbaugh singlehandedly killed Bush's proposed immigration reform several years ago - showed just how much power those guys wield. Inmates running the asylum.

The fact that you think Rush Limbaugh did that is very telling of your ignorance.

Rush and Hannity are pretty fiscally liberal, so I'm not sure what your problem with them is or what is so unusual about the GOP "taking orders" from them.

Good job Anarchist, You owned him pretty good. Rush and Hannity are not fiscal Conservatives and are actually the type of guys the OP should support but he is too much of a partisan hack

So you are saying Rush Limbaugh deserves a metal for preventing amnesty for illegal immigrants?

There are many ways you can take that comment, but if anyone believes the Republican Party takes their marching orders from Limbaugh and Hannity, you're just a partisan hack. Hell, if you even believe the Republican Party marches in unison...

So ONE guy making a stupid 3-second, off-the-cuff comment (that we see no other evidence of being true) means it's legit?

Surely you can do better than that HomerJS.

ratings are a vote of confidence on the opinion of the people. Hold unpopular opinions and your rating drops, making what you say inconsequential.

It isn't inmates running the asylum, it's the popular opinion of the people, as sad as that may seem.

Next time you try being a wiseass try to understand what you're talking about. Hannity has said he believes that each member of Congress should have their own secret service. He supports the war on terror too.

And that makes them a liberal?

So this is what crazy looks like?

Republican leadership isn't enamored of any conservative radio talkers. The Bushes and Rush got along but the Immigration debacle of 2006 pretty much put a strain on that. Rush didn't really need to fire up the base. That was done by the illegals themselves in May of 2006 when they staged May Day protests and marches with a "in your face" attitude. That backfired and McCain and Bush made it all worse when they accused anyone of being against reform of being racists. McCain made fun of critics saying they would like to "shoot illegals off their lawns with varmint guns". Rush wasn't needed to fire up the people - and close to 70% of people in polls were against the bills so it wasn't just a GOP thing. A lot of black people aren't fond of illegals because they see them snapping up resources and being put ahead of them in the Dem pandering line.

The disturbing part, they usually hear those talk radio voices when the radio is turned off.

Stunning admission not found.
Admission of talk show hosts setting policy not found.
Gavin Nusem misinterpreting a statement to try and make a foolish point confirmed.

So no republican congressman or senators have "revised their remarks" after saying something contrary to Rush and Rush calls them out for it?
