I think people are focusing on the wrong thing here. It's reasonable to believe Obama poses a greater threat to the U.S. than Putin. As others have said, Putin poses no material threat to us, whereas our internal powers always pose a potential threat. The real news here is that a full third of Republicans believe Obama poses an imminent threat to the U.S. That level of brainwashed paranoia is a problem, and is itself a threat. It's the result of six years of non-stop disinformation and hate mongering by shameless right-wing propagandists.

<shrug> If you don't define an ambiguous term like "threat" then your poll is crap anyway. They basically measured people's opinions about the likelihood of "threat" without asking about perceived severity, so that 34% includes everything from people who think he poses existential/extinction level risk all the way down to minor annoyance events.

Fair point, I agree. "Threat" is a fuzzy word, wide open to personal interpretation.

Having an uppity racist black sekrit mooslim commie fascist in the White House is obviously the greatest threat to conservative values evar! Because Sharia Law! Food Stamps! Gayification! Reefer Madness! Most of all, because of Benghazi!

In reality, it's because conservatives are kept slightly unhinged from a constant barrage of propaganda that short circuits their rationality.

Obama has delayed the Death Panels and FEMA Camps. They will be implemented in his 3rd Term.
