I'm sure the investigators have already done the cross-checking of the people on the tour (cell phone data) with whether or not they were also there during the insurrection, and even tracking along the same routes that Boebert showed them.

Would be interesting if it pans out that way. Looking more and more like Boebert is some sort of militant anti-USA free-stater that needs to be put under arrest and questioned for, at the very least, her already many public links to these violent invaders.

Those tweets on their own are pretty damning. It's hard not to infer that she had some prior knowledge of what would happen based on context. While I assume her involvement is far more than mere coincidence, gotta let the investigators do their job.

It does indeed seem like she was prognosticating the capital being breached. Sickening behavior on her part.

While I really don’t like her, we have to be careful how this is handled. I really don’t want it to become normal evicting people from Congress and I also don’t want armed traitors becoming normal in Congress either.
Hopefully (if proven true) Republican leadership will acknowledge something must be done. I suspect Republican leadership does not like having her around.

She did say that she gave her family a tour. I believe it was her kids, husband and parents. I’ll wait for the investigation. I want to know if the bullhorn lady is her mom.

If she was a senator McConnell would want her gone. As a rep she is just one of dozens that have gone off the deep end by running to the heart of Trumps base in very safe gerrymandered districts. In other words she isn’t that much of an outlier in the House. Look how long it took them to do anything about Steve King from Iowa.

That is the Q gal who also tweeted Pelosis location... Right?
Wonder if AOC was being hysterical when she said she was not feeling safe from their own members?

Now you just need her to get a preemptive pardon in the 11th hour...

If the FBI does anything, expect them to give her a call and politely ask her to go to the authorities at a time of her convenience and answer some questions. What they should do is lead her out in handcuffs.

Morning news roundup:

Didn't a FedCourt tell Donny he couldn't do this?

This one's fun:

Some things I've gleaned on Twitter:

- Boebert initially claimed only that she did not give any tours between January 3rd and January 6th, but later stated that she did tour her family on Jan 2nd.

- Boebert's mom (who may be a qanon supporter?) says that she received a detailed tour of the Capitol building.

Wapo has a new story but it's behind a paywall. It looks like two Dem Reps are now accusing her.

"“Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) said on Monday that he and Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) had both seen Boebert in the tunnel outside the Cannon House Office Building with a group sometime in the three days before the riots.”

Surely Capitol security requires any visitors to sign in when they arrive? Should be pretty trivial to clear up.

I mean this should be pretty easy to clear up. Surely the Capitol has better/more reliable security cameras than Epstein’s Jail cell, right?

Pretty much what I was thinking. Also, how many tours had she really given before? Did it go from none to an hours long, very detailed walk through just before the insurrection?

That kind of coincidence would be hard to ignore.

Some excerpts from CNN (no paywall) -

Cohen - "She was a freshman, she might have had a large number of people coming to be with her on this historic occasion and just wanting to give them the opportunity to have a tour. But it is pretty clear that her team is the team -- she's not on the home team. She was with the visitors."

Boebert - "The only people I have ever had in the Capitol with me are my young children, husband, mom, aunt and uncle," Boebert wrote in the letter to Maloney. "My mother was the only one of those family members in Washington D.C. on the 6th. During the riots, my mother was locked in a secure location, not in the U.S. Capitol, with my staff and never left their sight."

"The Sergeant at Arms banned all tours of the Capitol Grounds at the start of the pandemic, but members of Congress were able to ignore the guidance. Lawmakers or staff led tours have never had to register visitors with Capitol Police, a law enforcement official with direct knowledge of overall protocols told CNN."

"Capitol Police and the FBI would not say on the record if they are investigating any members of Congress for their role in the planning leading up to the insurrection. USCP has not responded to CNN's request for comment about whether a tour led by Boebert is something they are looking into."

"Still the activity of GOP members during that week, was enough for Democratic members to raise concerns to Capitol Police and the Sergeant at Arms. Their concerns were loud enough that the Capitol Police sent out a memo on January 4 reiterating the Capitol Hill policy that banned tours from the spring and completely shut down the Capitol Building on January 6 to only members and those who had offices there."

God, so this.

As much money as Congress regularly wastes, they ought to have cameras in that place that can identify people at night from orbit in the middle of a fucking hurricane.

Remember, Boebert has been accused but there were also credible accusations that the Three Stooges of Republicanism (Arizona butt-boys Gosar and Biggs, along with their threesome pal Mo Brooks) also led tour groups. And those three absolutely, positively KNEW tours were prohibited due to Covid restrictions.

I'll bet nothing happens to any of them in the end.

Lying about a key piece of evidence? A new Congressperson does not "forget" giving their parents a tour of the capital.

IFAIC she is a suspect

That's all well and fine, but what about the real scandal?

How much did she spend on her clothes and her haircut?

What was her degree in? Oh, a teen mom who later got a GED? NVM, that checks out. Never got indoctrinated at liberal socialist universities. No wonder she loves freedom so much.

OK, so put it together. She says she gave her family a tour on the 2nd. That is not between the 3rd and the 5th and her Mother is family.

Now whether any of that is true will be determined by video and the visitor logs which we are not privy to.

It was her first couple of weeks in DC ever, because this is her first term. So there isn't really any kind of history here to go by with her.
