See above. He was not handed a baseball team and handed an oil company

Right just like you or me would have walked into it.... dam it look past the parties and think about what is right for this country! We are in trouble and if you cant see that you will never get it.
A lot of us have worked all our lives 8 to over 10+ hr's a day seven days a week and see it all going down because of the bailouts of people and banks and now students that over borrowed money for a degree that is worthless.

Both parties groum the guys and the more education the better but with no life experience they have no clue!
I work in a tech college and we have great teachers that have been in industry and set the students up for success but we also have teachers that have masters and Dr. that look good on paper but dont have a darn clue of what is going on in the real world but think they know it all:'( and thier students suffer for it.

Obama hides the facts so I can only go on circumstantial evidence. Let's see his SAT and LSAT scores. I'd love to see how he transferred to Columbia from podunk Occidental. He was an academic dolt while in Hawaii so he only got into Occidental College. And from there he figured out the Ivys' AA programs were in full force so he got into Columbia via transfer. I'm sure he went for free due to his color.

And at Columbia he did not graduate with Latin Honors...yet wow he gets into HLS! What a fucking miracle! He must have got a 180 on his LSAT right? Yea...sure...probably went to HLS for free too thanks to who he was born to.

He was a summer associate at Sidley (top law firm) his first summer, and then at Hopkins the next (not so prestigious). Of course after he graduated he received no offers.

But once again, AA comes to save the day! Due to his color, he was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review! That earns him a teaching position at UChicago Law School. Good gawd, he must be some kind of fucking legal scholar...gets a teaching gig out of law school. And of course he sticks around and is a lecturer until he's ready to jump into politics.

Again. Nothing. Accomplished. AA. Posterman.

So what you are saying is you have absolutely nothing of any material substance at all to support your assertion but it must be true because he's black and done more in life than you ever will. Got it.

Do you truly believe, if Obama were white, that he would have gotten into Columbia, let alone HLS? And got a teaching gig at a prestigious law school right out of college?

Again, prior to becoming president, what did he accomplish in life?

See where we differ is I, being aware that I don't have any evidence, would not boldly state as fact something that is my opinion with absolutely no supportable foundation.

Carry on though. Since you are not encumbered by a need for proof why not go big with your "facts"?

You mean like that birth certificate?

"Obama hides the facts so we have to make shit up"

Anyone clever enough to hide the "fact" he is a Kenyan antichrist should be smart enough to handle this Presidency thing!

He's a rightwing nut who simply can't understand how a black man succeeded in life, and decided it must be because of affirmative action or a multi-decade conspiracy. He has to find someone to blame his failures on.

I thought he went to a private parochial school in HI that costs 30K a year. The way he fails to prosecute the richest bankers at a rate far less than Bush or any republican coming off the greatest frauds in history tells me all I need to know. Blue Blood.

http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2011...crimes-than-under-either-bush-presidency.html

Despite the hyperbole a ligitamite complaint! Kudos.

I would love to ask at a Presidential debate why no perp walk of any of these Wall Street CEOs.

However any help that may be given by the GOP is stymed their narrative our economy was brought down by poor people buying houses they couldn't afford.

He did? Can you post a link to it? Not saying it is not true, just never actually heard of it before.

He actually did almost 60 years ago when he enters politics. It was in his last autobiography as well.

This is from an old Washington post article but that article appears to be gone. It was quoted in forums.

"It has emerged throughout my life to haunt and embarrass me and has taught me in a very graphic way what one major mistake can do to one's life, career, and reputation," Byrd wrote in a new memoir -- "Robert C. Byrd: Child of the Appalachian Coalfields" -- that will be published tomorrow by West Virginia University Press.

No corroborating source means I really cannot trust it. Sorry, nothing against you (don't know you at all) but the Internet is full of untrue quotes.

However, it sounds like he simply wanted to clear some trash when he entered politics. Much like Obama finally decided to pay his score or so parking tickets when he entered the Presidential race. They were unimportant until someone was going to hold them up for the public to see...

Thanks for the link, I will read into it.

"Youthful indiscretion"?? He created a new chapter of the KKK, recruited over 150 people into it, and was elected its leader. His "youth" started in his 20s and continued into his 30s. Don't know about you, but most people do not say a 32 year old man is a youth.

He also obviously lies about his losing interest...the timeline fails pretty miserably:

In the early 1940s, Byrd recruited 150 of his friends and associates to create a new chapter of the Ku Klux Klan.[9]

In 1944, Byrd wrote to segregationist Mississippi Senator Theodore G. Bilbo:[17]

In 1946 or 1947, Byrd wrote a letter to a Grand Wizard stating, "The Klan is needed today as never before, and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia and in every state in the nation."[19]

However, when running for the United States House of Representatives in 1952, he announced "After about a year, I became disinterested, quit paying my dues, and dropped my membership in the organization. During the nine years that have followed, I have never been interested in the Klan." He said he had joined the Klan because he felt it offered excitement and was anti-communist.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Byrd#Ku_Klux_Klan

We have at least 4 years worth of Klan activity, with him being a leader for at least 3 of them. He claims it was only 1 year...

Amazingly, his view changed at the exact same time as his campaign for Congress started. What a coincidence! They cannot be related at all! NO politician says one thing when they mean another in order to get votes!

But if we assume he meant it, then we know he voted FOR civil rights for blacks. That is a given, right? Wait, he tried to STOP it. What can that mean?

Byrd joined with other Southern and border-state Democrats to filibuster the Civil Rights Act of 1964,[27] personally filibustering the bill for 14 hours, a move he later said he regretted.[28] Despite an 83-day filibuster in the Senate, both parties in Congress voted overwhelmingly in favor of the Act, and President Johnson signed the bill into law.[29] Byrd also opposed the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

They guy obviously lied about his change of heart...he still felt blacks should not have equal rights while he was in Congress. But you bought it hook, line, and sinker. You should be feel ashamed, as a professional politician he knows how to lie to those who want to believe.

Compare Obamas upbringing to the last President. Obama has a good case for having an upbringing closer to an average american
You just can't resist reminding us how George W. was born with a silver foot in his mouth...

Here is Byrd on his vote of the 64 CRA.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1pkiOJJdgc

Would I have voted for Byrd, absolutely not. Even in his reflection he declares black people loving their grandchildren as some kind of revelation. Again in order for you to justify current GOP behavior you have go use a dead guy on something he did back in 1965. Laughable at best.

Also I noticed you didn't mention George Wallace who sicked dogs and police on black children whos only crime was trying to attend school. Sometimes you have to accept peoples change of heart at face value. Again I would not have been able to accept an apolocy from GW but the SCLC did.

Maybe you need to focus more on current GOP bahavior.

From your article
Pew then categorized various media sources by the percentage of their followers who earned a high knowledge rating. The media outlets fell into three categories -- those that had 50 to 54 percent in the high knowledge group, those that had 40 to 49 percent in the high knowledge group, and those that had 34 to 39 percent in the high knowledge group.

In descending order, the 50-to-54 percent group included The Daily Show and its Comedy Central cousin, The Colbert Report; major newspaper websites; the PBS News Hour with Jim Lehrer; Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor; National Public Radio; and Rush Limbaugh’s syndicated radio talk show.

The 40-to-49 percent category included national newsmagazines; television news websites; local daily newspapers; Internet news sources like Yahoo and Google; and CNN.

Finally, the 34-to-39 percent group included the network evening news shows; online news discussion blogs; Fox News Channel; local television news; and the network morning shows.

Now, let’s analyze the data.

Fox isn’t last on the list, although it’s close

I'll accept that :)
