Seems a little over the top to me. But, hey, maybe he meant it.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/gop-cand...m-going-stomp-face-golf-spikes-203326572.html

"Wagner went on: “Well, Gov. Wolf, let me tell you what, between now and Nov. 6, you better put a catcher’s mask on your face, because I’m going to stomp all over your face with golf spikes,”"

If a Dem had said this, the deplorables and the cheeto would be tweeting this, pronto.

In a statement to PennLive.com, Wolf campaign spokeswoman Beth Melena dismissed Wagner’s “latest unhinged rant” as a desperate attempt to channel John Wayne, Clint Eastwood or Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo.

He's obviously aware that Republican congress critters can ACTUALLY assault reporters and get elected, so only threatening to assault a governor should be nbd.

How do you like this comment?

"What ever, he was was talking figuratively. Meanwhile democrats are assaulting people outside of Trump rallies, beating up senators in their back yard and gunning them down on baseball fields and making death threats. Democrats are chasing them out of businesses. Democrats are blocking traffic, breaking windows and even burning buildings. I am more concerned about that."

Wait, now republicans are AGAINST businesses refusing service to whoever they want?!?

And the backyard thing was debunked long ago.

And I recall Democrats being gunned down at an event. By the way it’s field. Singular. But hyperbole on. Death threats are both ways. I recall many democrats being assaulted INSIDE trump rallies. Of course the fact the candidate offered to pay the legal bills for anyone who assaulted a protester probably had nothing to do with it.

Standard do-as-i-say-not-as-i-do, insincere, inconsitent outrage.

The implication is that his golf shoes still have hard spikes. What golf course still allows hard spikes?

Meh, he's just playing to his base. Conservatives love tough guy bravado. I'm not saying it's acceptable, I'm just saying I'm not surprised.

I most strongly object to the mixed sports metaphors.

Golf and baseball? What a dope

Gov Wolf should put on his boxing gloves and score tons of touchdown on the guy

And the leader of the Republican party advocates for violence

Hmm, from what I remember it was Republican protestors who actually killed someone.

I guess he figured if Trump can do it and get elected president he surely stands a chance. Apparently the way the game is played by one side has changed.
