While I avoid your posts, the occasional read and response:
There was NOTHING WRONG with your examples - except for being too RIGHT WING.
Bork is one of the few cases the Senate actually worked, rejecting a dangerous radical.
Republicans have been calling for misguided 'revenge' ever since just as they want 'revenge' for Watergate causing Nixon's resignation or the people wanted 'revenge' for the Indians killing Custer who was there to kill their men, women and children. The blame is on Reagan for appointing someone so bad for the country.
Thomas is a case of the Senate FAILING - by three votes - to vote down another TERRIBLE candidate, who in part was correctly exposed for sexual harassment.
The Republicans lied and smeared the woman who told the truth to inform the country, and then demand 'revenge' for Thomas having been attacked.
The way the health care bill passed the Senate was because of Republican abuse of the filibuster and obstructionism.
Simply put, the Republicans were the whores of the special interests and wanted to block any such reform, to benefit the industries.
The fact is, the Republicans have done almost all of the 'abuses' in recent decades, from filibuster abuse to changing the rules as it suits them to locking Dems out of meetings.
This post is wasted on the quoted poster, it's for other readers.
Thank you for another post that proves my point about the reality in Washington.
