I ran across Goozex in a thread in the Free Stuff forum; it was posted there because they're giving new users enough points at signup to get a game for free. That was about 2 months ago and since then I've traded off 5 games and received 2, so now that I?m experienced with the site I figured I would take a moment to type up my thoughts for those who haven't heard of it yet. I've seen the Goozex name dropped here and there in random threads, but it?s good enough to have its own thread I think!

So after you sign up you use their site to locate the games you own and add them to your library, and any games you want to your request list. Every game has a point value which translates to 5$ per 100 points, and you earn points by trading away games or purchasing them at the store. Once you add a game to either your requests or library you get placed in the queue, where you wait for so many turns to get a game you?ve requested or you wait your turn until someone requests game that you have. At that point you can either accept or decline the trade, and if you accept it you have up to 3 days to ship the game off (at your own expense). Adding delivery confirmation grants you a pretty comprehensive protection plan where if a game is lost or you get scammed somehow you?ll more than likely end up getting your points back. That is a big advantage when compared to other trading methods.

Once a trade is complete you earn feedback points based on the condition of the game when the buyer receives it. New users to the site have their points held in escrow until they receive positive feedback, but after only 2 successful trades you get bumped up a feedback level and receive the points as soon as you accept the trade. Higher feedback levels allow you to request and send more games at once (new users are limited to 2 trades in each direction to prevent scamming of the system).

Like I said above, I?ve done a total of 7 trades and so far everything has gone great. In the past I?ve sold on eBay, Half.com, CAG Forums and GameStop, and I like Goozex better than all of those alternatives.

Here?s my profile, feel free to check it out:

Doesn?t hurt to sign up to get the free game, you might end up liking it and sticking around!

I signed up for the free game (Godzilla: Destroy All the Monsters Melee) and was pretty impressed by it. The only problem is I like to keep all my games. I was looking at just using it to get games but the cost of buying points doesn't really make it worth it for me.

I started using this service recently as well. Gave away 3 old PC/PS2 games I never play anymore and now have enough points for Halo 3. It works well and it's pretty well monitored/administrated.

I signed up just for the free game, but every time I find an xbox 360 game that I want, I get an email saying that it went up in price after weeks of waiting, and then I get another email about an hour later saying that they found a copy for me. It seems like they're trying not to give me a game.

Mine showed up at my house 3 days after I signed up, I was a bit confused because I wasn't expecting any packages. Of course I doubt Godzilla is a very popular game on there.

Same experience for me. I chose a 100pt game and then later it says they changed the value to 150points. Which sounds like a big pile of BS to me.

I joined and traded a bunch of rare PS1 RPGs like Alundra, Threads of Fate, Parasite Eve, and Legend of Legaia for 200pts a pop. Now I'm stuck in huge waiting lines for the few games worth getting. Turns out I should've just Ebay'd em all, lesson learned.

Goozex doesn't work for me, since I wait for bargains to buy games. By the time I'm done with a game, there are 50+ people in line to give it away. Even if I just want another worthless game that 50+ people are trying to get rid of in return, it will never happen, because I'll never get to the front of the give away queue. With places like gametz, tradegamesnow, or various FS/FT message boards, I can just trade my old game for someone else's old game.

I like it, it works well for me although shipping costs are tricky to keep low... Its just about worthless to trade away anything for 100 points, but its great to get them for 100 pts.

Yeah I signed up but I quickly canceled my membership when someone requested a 100 point game from me. 100 points = $5, and that's barely more than it would cost to ship the game.

I'll just try to sell my excess PS2 games in a bundle.
