I don't know where to post this but since it's an issue on iOS and possibly other systems I thought I'd put it here.
Most of you have noticed how Google now doesn't link up pages but does this AMP thing.
I really need to disable this. The design is pure junk. The designers of this need to be put on some other project.
When you click on a link and it goes to AMP the following happens:
1. The most noticeable thing is that stupid bar on the top. Does it have to be so fat? Does it need to take up 10% of my screen?
2. When this mode is active it seems to hijack the ability of Safari browser to get rid it's top and bottom bars.
So untimately when pages go to this mode about a good 25-30% of your screen is hijacked by it.
I cannot imagine what stupid idea this was. It may be relevant in places where data is scarce and expensive. But I don't see the point for people with strong data networks.
The real issue is that there is no way to disable this junk "feature".
Has anyone else been bothered by this? I wonder if there is a petition to get rid of it. I'd like to issue a sternly written letter to whoever is in charge of this at google.
