That's going to be my bet. A site not related to Google, but using their name to sell stuff typically runs afoul of trademark law.

But they both started around the same time, so they weren't really using Google's name. Then again, nothing can stop Google....

Google is google. It doesn't mean anything, except maybe "search" since google is the google search engine.

According to my 5th grade math book, a mathematician asked his daughter for a crazy name for a crazy amount, 10^100. She said "Google". Why he didn't just use the normal name of 10 duotrigintillion is beyond me. Maybe he wanted a cutsey name for it.

So a google is 10^100.

The "Google" spelling is also used in "The Hitchhikers Guide
to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams, in which one of Deep
Thought's designers asks, "And are you not," said Fook,
leaning anxiously foward, "a greater analyst than the
Googleplex Star Thinker in the Seventh Galaxy of Light and
Ingenuity which can calculate the trajectory of every single
dust particle throughout a five-week Dangrabad Beta sand
blizzard?"

As per dictionary.com.

zipzoomfly..... ugh.

It would have to be a legal challenge from google. A name like Googlegear just trips off the tongue. Zipzoomfly... that's just a pain to say. No flow.
