It is retail, SL6EG.

I still have it sealed. I have a retail cooler @ home. I may just order a OEM CPU elsewhere in drop this into my computer.
I think this CPU may easily hit about 170FSB if not higher.

If you are gonna order another one, get one from Outpost. Get the tray (OEM). We have been pushing these things over 175 fsb at default and LOWER vcore. They are the new multi-vid ones.

He didn't plan on ocing it at all for himself??? I guess if he doesn't mind the delay it doesn't seem so crooked!!!!;)

Unfortunately though getting an oem for him and he wont have the warranty...They will ask for the info and when you send it to them heaven forbid something is wrong with chip it better match....

I would only do it if you get him a retail chip as a replacement...anything else does seem sketchy...

Let me clarify what I meant. I meant get yourself the OEM from Outpost. They are sweet chips. Let him have the retail... You will likely get a better chip with the OEM at Outpost.

PJ, if I paypal you the $$$, will you pick one up and mail it priority? Outpost rapes people in Alaska for shipping charges.

Duvie, I am a local OEM builder so I warranty the computers. Retail, or OEM. Not a single CPU has died on me. Even OC'ing with much higher voltage.
<--- Does not believe the hype of overpriced retail warranty. I only bought this one because Googlegear has free 2nd day shipping ($10 handling charge for AK). So the total cost for buying this one was less than buying a OEM elsewhere and paying expensive shipping.

I take that back. I fried a P233MMX cpu sometime last year running it @ 350MHz :p
just remember that one.

Okay, someone fill me in. What is this multi-vid that's being referred to regarding the latest cpu's?

Also, not being able to afford more than one cpu at a time, I feel compelled to buy retail. My last one failed after 3 months and Intel replaced it no problem. If it was O.E.M. I would have been S.C.R.E.W.E.D.

The rest of my setup (P4PE l/r/f/sata and SLK-900 w/92mm Panaflo) is arriving Tue, so I'm going with a googlegear retail 2.53 and selling my current 2.4 B0 to my neighbor. The 2.53 will hopefully ship tomorrow and arrive Tue as well, with GG's free 2ndDay Air shipping.

Sounds like from the latest posts both GG and NewEgg are shipping C1's. I know Pastorjay has been getting good chips from outpost, but their tray is $209 ($216 w/ shipping) and the extra $25 bucks is not worth the crap shoot to me. Besides, no saying I won't get just as good a chip from googlegear.

Wish me luck!

Okay, in my post yesterday a few posts above this one, I guess my only question got lost in the rambling of the rest of it.

Can ya'll take just a second and explain to me what the term "multi-vid" refers to with regards to CPU's? I've been building my own systems and watching the o'c scene for many years now and that's a new term to me.

Thx...

BTW... I ended up ordering a 2.53 from googlegear last night. Hopefully I'll get a C1 like SinfulWeeper's.
