you guys and your unspecific questions that lead us to waste space by posting responses like this so that you can explain yourself more clearly...gosh.

I didn't think it was that unclear.

How much does a Google employee make? (e.g. a developer or a PM)

How about you tell us the position you're curious about so we dont have to guess whether you're referring to a janitor or a VP.

That's right, perfectly clear. You guys need to stop beating on the OP. We all know google is made up of developers, PM's, robots, and spiders.

Oh, and janitors.

What, you think just because it is Google they will over pay you? What do you expect? They will pay what the market rate is. They will not pay a 70,000 developer 100,000. That is just plain stupid.

When they opened up their facility in Ann Arbor they were under paying people. But you get cool benefits like the ability to bring your pet to work and you can wear jeans. Neither of which will pay a mortgage.

What level of PM and what level of developer? And by "PM" do you mean "Program Manager", "Product Manager" or "Project Manager"? And what type of developer? C? ABAP (SAP)? XML? Java? What city?

There are way too many variables to make your question meaningful. As it stands, a Developer 1 might make $40,000 if they are fresh out of college without experience and a Project Manager 3 might make $150,000 if they're really good. In terms of all Google employees, the range is probably from ~$30,000 for an admin to $500,000+ for the chief executives. Meaningless numbers though.

They had a hardware support position shortly after opening that I applied for. I have 8+ years experience doing what the job description listed, yet they did not have a position that fit my skills.

I assume becasue they got several thousand apps... But still would have been cool to have Google on the resume.
