To use Google Web Accelerator, your computer must have a Windows XP or Windows 2000 SP 3+ operating system. Google Web Accelerator works for the Internet Explorer 5.5+ or Firefox 1.0+ browsers.

Nice.

Will try it when I get home tonite.

This coupled with Netzero's High Speed Dialup, I won't even have to pay for broadband!

It actually seems to be slowing things down a bit... maybe it has to be used for a while before it starts to be effective.

anyways, i'm gonna dl it see if it is any good.

edit: after reading question 5, i'm starting to get worried that google might soon start up an ISP (it could theoretically happen)

how long does it take for you to "save" 7.9 minutes on your browsing? I'm using it right now, and I don't really see much of a difference; also, it's still at 0.0 seconds. Said in the agreement it will track wherever you go and send the info back to google. Seems like a kind of spyware they'll use for marketing.

I may be wrong though

EDIT: After surfing for a little while, SUCCESS! 0.1 seconds saved

Not that I noticed it or anything :(:brokenheart:

There is no way I'm letting google have access to my surfing records...despite their privacy policy.

EDIT Maybe if i had a dialup connection I would reconsider....

I'm guessing this utility is provided for the purpose of cataloging surfing behavior beyond the current search profiles already collected in order to advance their advertising effectiveness. No thanks.

I am undecided so far.

maybe one of the more programatically inclined members could tell us what this actually does?
