Google Voice Problem - Anyone else?

I have my Google Voice account setup to handle voicemail duties from my cellphone. Problem is, more often than not, if I either ignore the incoming call or just let it ring, instead of the call bouncing to GV's voicemail, GV apparently interprets it as a new incoming call and sends it right back to my cellphone which starts ringing again. The person on the other end just keeps hearing it ring and ring with voicemail never picking up (it actually does if I ignore the call a 2nd time, but by then most people have hung up and just complain that my voicemail doesn't work).

I've seen other people reporting the same problem but nobody seems to get an answer from The Googles on how to fix this. Any ideas?

It sounds like it's continuing to forward back around and not timing out properly.

I suggest going back to your cellphone's voicemail. Google Voice is great, but I took mine off my cellphone. The visual voicemail feature was always funny when Symantec/Novell/Microsoft Tech support reps from India would call me and leave messages. It always screwed up the message. :p

Now I'm just using it to forward calls to my free SIP number and as my outbound VOIP routing from home....it seems to work good and the quality is crystal clear...

I would make sure you have all call forwarding off on gv? I have never had an issue with GV, it took over my voicemail and it has always worked.

Well I have forwarding turned on so that if someone calls my GV # it forwards to my cell. It always worked fine that way before but in the last 5 or 6 months I've had problems with the voicemail as described above, like it tries to forward the call back to my cell instead of sending it to voicemail.
