It was on the radio and on the news. This started in australia. It's to show how much we can save just by turning off the lights at night for a few hours.

looks the same here. but since we all have LCD's, white actually requiers less effort to display then black as the crystals don't have to block anything.

I'm in Canada and use google.ca and it's blacked out, but when I go to google.com it's white.
