Google tops $400 a share!

Even if you bought it at the initial share price, you would still need a heck of a lot of shares to get rich off of Google stock. If you have enough shares that you make a six figure profit return, that's a good return. A couple thousand here or there isn't all that much for me to get excited about, as I get that return from other less volitile stocks.

Ya, but who knew?????

I remember when Google took over Deja news and the groups went to "Beta" (I still think they are). I remember thinking......................"Uggh, WTF are these people doing??"

And to be honest, I still use Yahoo for most of my generic searches and only use google for "group" searches which I was still able to do w/ Deja anyway......(dunno why Deja sold).

Anyway, aside from that..........I'm not even gonna look, but I want somebody to post back here w/ their Price/Earnings ratio!!!!
(This oughtta' be reeeeeeeeeeeally good!!!) 😉

Not all of us are wheelers and dealers like that... if I would've made a couple thousand dollars off of Google, I would've been pretty happy.

Then again, I'm only 21, so I guess I don't have much of a sense of perspective when it comes to money.

What makes up the Forward PE? Analyst's predictions? I find it hard to accept analyst predictions. They brought that one themselves.

Yep, I put that in there because everyone is saying goog is trading on forward p/e. If they don't meet the estimates, they are going to get hit hard.

i'm not sure what forward PE uses, but analyst predictions are usually pretty accurate. publicly traded companies usually offer earnings guidance for the next quarter and next year, and analysts probably factor that into their predictions.

Google just passed Cisco in market value. Now it's only second only to Intel in Silicon Valley. Total BS late 90's overhypedness!!

Google is a good company.........but can anyone spell O-V-E-R-P-R-I-C-E-D?

It must be rallying on rumors that they are about ready to release a beta version of their new pc operating system. 🙂
