Google toolbar question:

Recently it looks like many sites have found ways around google's popup blocker.
Example? http://www.weather.com

Kiind of sucks, and since when you go to http://toolbar.google.com it doesn't tell you which version you are downloading you don't know if there is a newer one out than the one you currently have.

Weather.com has never slipped a popup past google toolbar for me.

And I check weather.com daily.

I have to agree. However, for awhile they did have those big ads (for verizon I believe) that would cover most of the content on the page...it wasn't really a popup though.

Yeah, I HATE those types of ads. The ones with sound that move and cover everything with no means of closing them are the worst

I haven't noticed that Google Toolbar is lacking in performance. I still only get one popup or so per week. Very happy with it.

The popup on weather.com was blocked for me and I'm using one of the original versions here on this PC.

I have noticed some popups avoid it, but it's rare

you might try adaware to make sure you don't have spyware....btw, google toolbar updates itself, so you don't have to worry about redownloading it.
