I have automatic updates disabled on my devices but check every couple days or so for updated apps. So a couple days ago I see Google Street View listed as an app to be updated and as per my usual policy I check to see what the permissions are. Here's what it says:
Identity
NEW: find accounts on this device
NEW: add or remove accounts
Photos/Media/Files
NEW: modify or delete the contents of your SD card
NEW: read the contents of your SD card
Camera
NEW: take pictures and video
Wi-Fi Connection information
NEW: view Wi-Fi connections
Other
NEW: prevent phone from sleeping
NEW: connect and disconnect from Wi-Fi
NEW: read Google service configuration
NEW: use accounts on the device
- full network access
- view network connections
WOW, talk about total control of your device. Why does it need to add/remove accounts and delete files on my SD card?
The other interesting thing is this is listed as an 'update', but I can not find Google Street View installed at all. I have Google Maps and other Google apps but nothing called Google Street View, so if it not already installed how can it be an update?
