Awesome.

I look forward to the day I can type in any location in the world and get a street view.

I always wanted Google to put that capability into street view, though i wish they would just keep the camera focuses ahead and not twirl around in a circle

A customer of mine drives a Google camera car. Those things are pretty cool close up. He mails off a 2tb hdd to Google every day.

Definitely the coolest thing I have seen for a while. The music matches the pan and tilt of the camera, very neat.

The last time I used streetview, I was surprised how much ground they have covered, compared to when I first used it.

How did they make it so smooth? When you are in the Street View, it never looks this smooth.

Very cool. I just wish they would include control of the time lapse playback speed.

I *think* they probably tweaked that one library they mentioned, GSVPano, and did some trickery with the image stitching.

They only allow the Hyperlapse file to be a certain length. So the longer the journey, the less coherent the scenery.

That's awesome. That must have taken a long time to make. Take screenshot, hit next step, wiat for pics to load, take another screenshot.... etc... I see there's a tool but it's not really the same, I tried it and it's not as smooth, it skips lot of frames and goes too fast. Still pretty cool though.
