Google Sidebar is 'watching' me!!!

OK I'm now convinced that as I surf the web, the sidebar thing in the new GD2 is totally following me. Example: I start reading an article on AMD chips, and the news plugin magically picks up 2 articles on Intel IDF. I surf on over to huffingtonpost.com (Liberal bloggregator) and soon I have articles from Slate popping up in 'Web Clips' (auto-RSS plugin.) Anyone else using this and notice this too? Is my privacy being compromised in any way? I elected 'advanced options' which says anonymous usage data is being sent back for analysis, but dayumn its scary to have Google looking at EVERY page I surf.

I think its probably as anonymous as google ads. I don't think Google would ruin its reputation with spyware, they seem to be making money in other ways.

If you don't want to use it, then dont. I don't see what the big deal is.

This thing reminds me of the friggin bloated garbage in AOL. Google, for the love of god (err, love of Google?), please please PLEASE remember that simpler is better.

What's sad is this is actually addictive!!! I read an article on one thing and all of a sudden I'm prompted to read MORE!!! Google is trying to fill my brain with useless information, so that when their brainwave scanners are operational my helpless gray matter will become part of their massive server farm!!!
