Google search results messed up?

Not sure what happened, but my google search results, whether through Chrome, firefox, or IE, are messed up.

They basically look simplified, with adsense at the top and bottom. There are no longer links to maps, images, etc. at the top, nor any reference to my google account. At the top there is a link that says "what is this page?"

Any guesses? Its strange, only happened on one of my computers. Not sure if it is a virus or spyware of some kind (linking me to specific adsense) or just some google quirk or feature.

Have you tried seeing where the link leads to - without going there? Sounds pretty fishy to me. I don't think it's a quirk or a feature, I'd recommend getting it scanned too.
 
took some doing but it's been solved. malwarebytes was helpful, and I had to do something with the registry. all seems to be well now, thanks for the help.
