There used to be s search filter for "Discussions" and this would filter your results for forum posts. It appears they removed several search filters, and their response was some bs about helping us.

Although I didn't use it every single day, the discussions filter was very useful. I realize you can add a tag to your search url to filter it, but hardly anyone who uses it would know how to do that. I swear it seems like Google is consistently shooting themselves in the foot. Their approach to everything seems to be short term boosts to ad profit in exchange for long term growing dissatisfaction by their users. That can't be sustainable.

Remember when they used to be the good guy?

I noticed that was missing. That's a real shame. Sometimes the only way to get answers to certain esoteric questions is to find forum or message board discussions about them. I suppose you can still see those results, but that filter really sped things up for me. I don't understand who they thought removing it would help.

Their searches have been sucking for years. Aside from scholastic stuff I've been using Bing.

The advanced search options are still there, they just burred them in their new "flat" design. No idea why they did this. It's really poorly designed.

To access them, you have to first search for something. It will bring up the results. Then click on the gear on the right and "Advanced Search" appears in the drop down menu.

Every since they started pushing g+ they have sucked.

The only people who use Google+ are businesses trying too hard to be social media savvy.

ok, was just on Youtube and noticed some changes I hadnt really paid attention to before.

If you wanna favorite something now you have to dig around thru different menus and sub menus.
The only stuff thats easy to access is the social networking bullshit.

Google is trying way too hard to be like facebook and sell everyones info.

Yeah, I always canceled the G+ BS about adding your fucking name in YouTube. Then the cock sucker would say, "okay we'll try again latter." NO! Don't try again latter I chose to keep my fucking user name asshole!

So I ended up creating a damn G+ account with a fake name (Yeah, like I will use a real name Goggle shit heads) because I can't for the life of me add comments in YouTube videos. I can only do it in IE. I have tried multiple computers with Pale moon and Firefox and even used a plain vanilla portable Firefox and still couldn't add fucking comments. Only IE worked. I don't know if it's because I use OpenDNS or not. Come to think of it I don't think that's it either because I used a VPN which voids OpenDNS's DNS.

Google: One step forward two steps back. Isn't that a company motto for the Interwebz?

Oh! Google, I want Google glass for free for going though such hell!

Cashed in my Bing rewards for $35 in Amazon Gift cards, woot.

Use Bing, get paid to search. Once I realized you could exchange points for Amazon GC's, I switched all my devices to default to Bing.

Can you explain how you get paid for searches?

Never used the filters I don't think, though I will rarely use the site: search tag to search a particular domain or website.

Agreed, lately they've been stuffing their search results with bullshit social media hits, while ignoring actually terms in my query.

I just add "forum" to the query if i needed something discussion related.

Sometimes I think developers change shit around so they can feel useful.
