I used Google Photo's on my Android phone for work, and I download the pics/video's using my PC from Google Photo's. It used to be a real convenient way to move the photo's from my phone to my PC and would take just minutes. NOW it sometimes takes 6-8hrs before they show up which makes it impossible to use for work anymore.

Anyone know why it now takes so long? Do you know of another way to download my pics/videos from my Android phone to my PC?

I thought if I connected my phone to my PC via USB it might show up as a drive and I could get the pics/video's that way but it doesn't.

It sounds like Google Photos is taking its sweet time syncing, which is super annoying, especially when you're trying to get work done. First off, check if Google Photos is syncing over both Wi-Fi and cellular data. Sometimes, it might be slowed down by battery optimization settings on your phone too.If you're connecting your phone to your PC via USB and nothing's showing up, try swiping down on your phone after plugging it in, and selecting the "File Transfer" option. That should make your phone pop up as a drive on your PC.Another option is using Google Drive instead. Upload your photos and videos there directly from your phone, and then download them on your PC. You might find it faster than waiting for Google Photos to sync.If you're up for trying a different method, apps like AirDroid or Dropbox could help too. They let you upload your files to the cloud and then access them from your PC, without the wait.

Is your phone and PC connected to the same network? If so try using an app like CX File Explorer. I transfer files, including pictures, videos and other files from my phone to my laptop or server all the time using this app. In the app there is a Library tab which is where you can click on images, videos, audio or documents and it will display only those types of files. There is then a Network tab where you can add your PC. You'll need to have a shared folder on the PC to access. Once you have it set up you can navigate in the Library and select the photos you want to copy. A context menu appears at the bottom where you can choose to move or copy the photos. Then go back to the home screen in the app and click on network, click on your PC and then on the folder you shared. Then you click paste.
