Google Maps navigation offline rolling out today

Their latest update is great, with the spoken live traffic updates & whatnot. Edit: Accidentally opened Apple Maps for this update: The weird thing is, it figured out where I live, where I worked, and what my schedule was after a few days of using it...I had to come into work Sunday night for an emergency battery swap, and when I left around 7pm & hopped in my car, it popped a notification on my iPhone's homescreen up with the estimated time to Home...it was creepy in a Big Brother way, but pretty cool too:

That's not Google giving you the notification there. That icon is from Apple Maps. LOL!

I wonder how large of an area you can download. If it's still limited to its current size, then that's pretty stupid. I would like to download the whole Bay Area for instance.

It's still limited.

Before it was limited to like a 100mb, now i downloaded 800mb of data.
Also the offline nav/search doesn't work now because it hasn't been enabled on their side, funny offline navigation that needs server side activation.... oh google google.

This is great, I will give it a try on my way to work. Considering that the app works so smooth, I'm thinking to use it as my main navigation app.

Really? That's pretty cool.

The whole of the UK and Ireland copilot map is 480mb, so 800mb is plenty.

The offline nav only working online is fail though.

Hahaha! I figured out why...went to lunch with co-workers the other day & my navigator clicked Maps instead of Google Maps. That explains a lot 😀
