I have the latest Google Maps on my KitKat phone and tablet and sometimes use it in turn-by-turn mode but at other times I just use it in moving map mode. One thing that's bothered me for a while now is the current location icon. When using Maps in moving map mode the current location icon is a blue circle and it stays in the center of the screen while the map moves depending on how I move.
The thing I don't understand is the little arrow/triangle icon that is right beside the circle. It does NOT point to where you're going and I can't make out where its pointing and why. That is, if I'm heading due east (90 degrees) the arrow may in fact be pointing at 30 degrees or almost anything. So my question is ... what is the arrow/triangle and why does it point where it points?
