So, I got an email from my dad saying to look at his house on google maps. So I did and then hit the "street view" button, apparently google rolled down his street with a 360 degree camera and took a bazillion pictures. You can pan in a circle and move up and down the street. It's amazing, and the picture quality isn't bad either. He's even in his front yard mowing.

They don't have alot of places photographed yet, he's in the middle of Knoxville, TN and it's up. Here in Birmingham though they don't have alot of the area up yet.

Dunno if this has already been posted or not, if so...sowwy.

I don't know if this has been posted already but it has definitely been on google (slowly growing) for quite some time.

Yep you can see my house on there too. It shows my old car in the picture as well. Too bad the car was totaled in a wreck this winter. I miss my Honda gas mileage.

I got stuck behind thier stupid minivan with the bubble camera on top as it was driving about 15 MPH down a one lane road, took me forever to get around it. Kinda aggravating.

they even mapped some of the NYC bridges. i have to wonder how the DHS didn't ask Google to shut those 360 views down.

to be fair, they dont do tunnels.

My parent's house doesn't even have a very good satellite picture. For some reason it cuts off about .5 miles south of their house.

Yeah because those bridges and tunnels are so secure, it's not like a terrorist could just drive across them like everyone else.

I personally don't use street view that often, but the topo maps they provide with the "terrain" option is awesome.

hmm, never thought of that, I should look up that road....

EDIT: Nope, that road is NEAR some other street view roads, but it's not. maybe it hasnt posted yet, but that was over a year ago.

But now that I remember, it seems some of the roads in the area were taken down from street view, the next major road I remember seeing on there, now its not. Wonder why they took it down.

Street view is invaluable to me for looking up properties I want to buy. It's nice when you can virtually drive through the neighborhood.

I knew I shouldnt have been flipping the guy off the whole time while my passenger (Doogie Houser) was doing coke off a strippers ass while standing up in the moon roof.

Heard they even got on to an Army base. You would think the guards at the gate would be suspicious about all the cameras. They probably let them through since it was google.

No more bases

Well they used to let Chinese and Pizza delivery places on base to deliver to the barracks at night no problem. But then there was that thing a few years back where they found a couple wanna be terrorists posing as pizza delivery guys scoping a base out, so they might have cracked down on that.
