Has anyone tried using Google Local Mobile on their mobile devices? I recently tried it on my BB and was quite blown away by how smooth and easy to use it is.

The really neat part is that it gives directions as well and shows hte corresponding part of the map for you. Plus you can switch between satellite and map view. Unfortunately there is no hybrid view yet.

And it should work for most smartphones/pda's as well not just the BBs.

You can find it at Google Local Mobile

And yes I realize I am probably late to the party, but I figure I'm not the last one to know about it.

My blackberry 7230 has unlimited data plan, but can't do it.
My razr v3 can do it, but no unlimited data plan.
:p

Unfortunately, I can't use the blackberry sim in the razr either since the data plan is only for blackberry data.

Well the way it works is that the Google Map app detects what type of device you have and loads the corresponding program on your mobile device. This way the images and UI is formatted for that particular screen/resolution/OS.

Also specific for BB, depending on what browser you use, any website you visit is formatted for your particular device.
