Is Google Labs inevitably going to be responsible for some watershed internet technology development that ultimately defines our era (assuming google.com itself hasn't already), similar to how all kinds of stuff (including UNIX) came out of Bell Labs in the 70s? It really seems like a serious amount of mindshare resides in their think-tank.
I mean, they've even created their own filesystem over there. :Q Not news per se, but pretty remarkable considering it's apparently in production in the GooglePlex datacenters.
