Google keeps asking me to verify that I'm not a robot every time I use the site.

This started happening quite often around the time that I bought Malwarebytes a couple of weeks ago but not sure if it's related or not. However Google keeps asking me to verify saying it's getting unusual traffic from my computer. I know this normally happens on occasion but recently it's frequent and quite annoying. Like every time I visit the site, it asks. The about me page says this happens when requests from network appear to be in violation of the terms of service.

I use Kaspersky, Malwarebytes and NordVPN. Edge browser. So I'm reasonably confident that I don't have malware so could any of these be causing the issue and if so why?

It's likely from using a VPN.

When I'm connected to the Surfshark VPN and I try to search for anything with Google, I get the same thing. I actually have to search using Bing or DuckDuckGo.

Strange because I've had Nord for quite some time but hasn't been an issue till now. Maybe Google changed something. I wouldn't mind if the verification was simpler/faster but it's so slow. I guess I'll have to get used to using Bing or Duck then. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something else suspicious going on with my network.

Even when I do the "suspicious activity detected" Captcha stuff, Google still won't let me do any searches on there. It's just Captcha after Captcha until I give up.

It's irritating that I have to turn off my VPN to use Google, so while it's a big change at first because I've used Google for so long, after a few weeks I've gotten used to the other search engines. Hopefully Google will realize they're going to far with blocking so many VPNs, and ease up on the "flagging" nonsense.

I get the same thing when I use PIA's VPN service.

A lot of the VPN services apparently have a tendency to reissue the same IP address blocks over and over again within their service to their customers. It is possible somebody (or a lot of someones in the past) did something with the IP address you have (like spamming, for instance) which caused it to get flagged as a problem IP in a database somewhere.

I also sometimes get the captchas due to using Cloudflare's DNS service when I'm searching (that, plus Google apparently doesn't like at times how fast I type in and execute multiple sequential search queries).

All VPN servives have multiple clients on the same IP #s for that group of servers they use. They are not issuing IP addresses to clients (like an ISP does), their servers keep the same IP # and which server you are on is what changes. With PIA, it usually stays on the same one *forever*, normally issued to you based on which has lowest latency and won't change until you disconnect and reconnect or choose to manually change it yourself.

If you have the PIA app installed, simply pick a different server. I often use the lower latency ones in Canada and have not had a captcha issue with any of them. Granted in that use, I am just doing google searches, not accessing google account features. If I access the account features on a VPN then I get that blahblahblah new device email alerting me that Google sees that something is different.
