Anyone else get hounded by this crap lately?

I'll be browsing for an icon etc and an innocent right click on any of the first 20 results leads to a spam result that attempts to run malicious software.

Annoying as hell.

Google's blog said they're adjusting things to "prevent non-useful web sites from appearing at the top of search results". This is industry talk for "We're cracking down on sites infected with rogue antivirus and ad spam scams on them".

I didn't know spyware still existed. But I have been using Opera for near 10 years now.

Use a limited account enough said. Of course SRP too! You will never see malware/spyware ever again.

Most fool proof way.

check your javascript runtimes . . . i got mine infected twice last year and it did similar things to what you describe OP
