I hear this on npr on Friday while driving...
Appearantly google has finally been let through China's nationwide firewalls. Unlike Yahoo, and as I am sure most of you are aware, google does not operate on a country-customized level. Instead they are a universally-oriented search engine. For this reason google was blocked, as it had no control over content as it does over Yahoo, which operates china-based servers.
Just thought it was interesting
National Public Radio
P.S>...that speeling error was purposeful...how else was I supposed to get the OT crowd intersted in global politics
