what? you mean in FF i cant go to yahoo.com? or altavista.com? you must be retarded.

MIKE

Are they built-in like in opera? I don't actually have to visit any websites to do searches, it's a lot faster this way. Counting the translators, there are 38 search engines built into my opera, and it's easy to add more.

Congratulations. Your e-peni5 has become twice its size. Your browser owns mine.

That's the thing I don't like with Opera.. it's called bloat. Honestly, how many search engines out of the 38 do you use?

Personally I like customizing the browser to only have what I use 🙂

Actually, I have more than the stock opera, because I customized it to what I use. I actually do use a lot of different search engines. And it's not bloat. The goal of Opera was to make a faster, more secure browser than the competition and keep it small. The file size is only like 2-3mb larger than firefox, and it doesn't take any more memory to run. And it's faster!

Firefox has a drop down menu in the built-in search that allows us to choose Yahoo also. It can also be customized to add others. I've used Opera during the whole surfmonkey thing and I wasn't oh-my-god-it's-better impressed.

You should explore it some more. I just accidentally found a new feature that dropped my jaw, which I wish I would have known about before.
so you're not going to say what it is ? 😕

It's a right-click menu with highlighted text. Aside from the built-in spell checking, it also has an encyclopedia and dictionary, and translators for 19 conversions. And various other things as well.

You can simply choose not to use any of the features. It's not bloated like some believe. It is still faster than FF. There is no reason not to switch.

I will give opera one thing.. even with all that stuff pre-installed, it only used about 20MB RAM while FF uses 90MB. That counts for a lot when you have Azureus running in the background too.. damn resource hogs. That's the only thing I don't like about FF. But I can't stand the ad/space up top on Opera either.

I use the text-ads provided by Google. I actually like them. They search what you are viewing for keywords and display relevant links. It's very small, as it's only text, and only displays 2 links at a time. The blog I use does the same thing, and people on there actually liked it too. It's certainly not a reason to not go with the best browser available.
