I find it kind of amusing that they've not only spent awhile looking at different ways of writing Google, and ended up on a minor variation, but that they spent the time to detail it. 😛
More like the Google logo for the last 16 years.Lowercase "e" on an angle.
Sort of like the upper case in in "Evil Corp" in Mr. Robot?
I'd imagine that when you're a company as big as Google, changing your logo in thousands of places is kind of a big deal.
I'd bet that someone like Dell or Coke would have an even tougher time with changing their logo. At least most of Google's logos are digital and are easily changed in software.
I'm not talking about the process of altering the logos that exist "in the wild". I'm talking about their description of the process of choosing the logo. And yes, I do understand the concept behind branding, but that still doesn't abate how silly it looks to put up various sized dots on a board. 😛
What was Google's market cap in May 1999 when they turned the 'e'?When you have that big of a market cap, I think you can afford to turn your 'e' which ever way you damn please.

Too quick. 2°/month would be more subtle. I'm sure Google could script that to automatically tilt it minute by minute.I wonder how long it would take people to notice if they just kept turning it 1 degree every day. 😛
I watched a mini documentary on the logo design, they are SUPER nutty about it down to the pixel. But then again, one of the things they explained was how much electricity was used simply by the energy required to download their logo on every search page, times a billion uses a day, it was insane! There was like an actual impact on the environment based on how they tweaked their logo because of the bandwidth used, processing used to display it, etc. Had never really thought about it that way 😵
Things like a fancy logo almost exclusively determine where I buy from.
Does your barber have to have the swirly, candy-cane-colored sign thing?
