So as someone trying the ticketing queue lasted for quite a while, and then.... I got the Google Wallet window which gave me 5 minutes to check out. Unfortunately Google Wallet would fail to load and timed out. This happened to me twice.

I spent the other 40 minutes waiting in the ticket queue line only to find it sold out in the end.

At this point I'm not sure if Google's inept or just trying to generate hype again. My stance is that it's understandable if the ticketing queue system fails or overloads, but when they're already limiting the # of people who can check out, it's pathetic that Google Wallet will time out trying to process 5000 transactions. Many posts on Engadget can confirm that people just ran into Google Wallet failures.

I tried for 30 minutes until I figured they were all sold out like last year so I stopped trying. I kept getting booted back to the ticket pricing part right before you click Accept. It would also have me logged out of Google+ when it did that. It got quite annoying.

Yeah this is bothersome. Would've been nice if their payment system didn't die. Isn't that the poiint of a ticket allocation system which they had already?

It sells out quick because in the past, Google gave away a bunch of products to attendees. Last year it was a Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7, Chrome Box, and a Nexus Q, IIRC. A nice haul if you paid the academic price for attending.
