Google.com not resolving both IE and Firefox but still have access to internet

I recently updated a few of my video and sound drivers and after that, I cannot connect to Google.com in either Firefox or IE. I can get everywhere else online including video.google.com. However, I cannot resolve to Google.com I get the standard

"The connection to the server reset while the page was loading" message.

My firewall is off and my router isn't blocking any sites.

I wanted to know if there were any files that I should check within windows before I roll back some of the drivers.


I am running

Firefox 2.0.0.6
IE 6.0.2900
fully patched XP Pro
