Boot computer. Everything's fine. Launch stuff. Everything's fine. Open Google Chrome. Everything is fine for a few seconds, then Chrome freezes and its window greys out, then becomes completely white. (This takes a few seconds.) Then other applications freeze. Control-alt-delete won't work, Explorer's stuck. Have to hard-reboot machine.
It happened before on my old rigs when I tried to use AHCI to connect my hard drives. I built a new machine last weekend, same thing, but I'm not disabling AHCI so I ditched Chrome instead.
However, some googling seems to indicate that it's not an uncommon problem and can happen anyway. So I suppose it might be a coincidence.
Anyway; has anybody experienced this or found a fix?
