I knew Google would screw something up in the EULA. That's actually worse than anything Microsoft would try and pull. Another reason to stick with FF3.

you are surprised that google is doing this??? Why? I said t once, and I said it again. Google is a big corporation. Their job is to make revenue go up and to somehow make a strong hold on the market. Their goal is to become the next Microsoft. Why else would they even exist? For fun?

I'm not surprised at all. The bad part is Google goes under the guise that they are in it for the people. All the talk of open sourcing Chrome and making the web a better place is just a load of bullshit to get their Trojan Horse in as many hands as possible.

 Very well said.

Honestly, what the hell is Google going to do? Send an email to your mother with the list of porn sites you visit on a regular basis?
If you like spyware, that's your prerogative.

Exactly...when i first heard about this release, my first thought was "so what data will be transmitted back to them"? They somehow made it acceptable to track your usage. Look at gmail....they magically know what ads to use for you.

Interesting, even with all the add-ons I had with FF3.0, the only one I really miss with Chrome is Adblock.

Wow, just found something I love about Chrome. Text entry boxes have a resizable option. Click and drag in the lower-right of the text box where the little "texture" is. Awesome.

wow that is cool
you can do that here and any other forum.
wicked

ok here are my results for memory usage.

i have a total of 9 tabs open in Chrome, and IE7
Device manger shows only 7 chrome.exe (not sure why, maybe 1 exe for DIFFERENT websites as i have a couple of tabs for anandtech and a couple for newegg)

Iexplorer of course shows 1 exe.

memory usage is NEARLY TWICE THAT OF IE7 !! (exact same web addresses)

168megs +/- for Chrome
96 +/-megs For IE7

(i had to remove things that were private so forgive the chopped up picture.)

Something odd going on with Chrome for me. I can't use the scroll bar on my touchpad properly. It scrolls down but then refuses to scroll up. I use it all the time too so I hope this is fixed fairly soon, until then I'll still be on FF.

Definitely a work in progress... It's definitely faster. I hate the way they have their bookmarks laid out. I can't believe they don't have a drop down menu for urls...

I like the visited pages layout.

I dunno... pros and cons... I'll play with it a bit more.

Yikes... this thing saves every link you've ever clicked on or typed in. Open a new tab. Click "show full history"

There will be some pissed off girl friends and/or parents when they figure this one out.

Agreed. It's more mouse-intensive than I like...
